New York: Professor Marike Paulsson, Secretary General of the Council for International Dispute Resolution of Bahrain, attended a high-profile reception, co-hosted by France and Thailand, at the Permanent Mission of Thailand to the United Nations in New York on investment dispute resolution mechanisms.
The event featured welcome remarks by Cherdchai Chaivaivid, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to the UN, and Jérôme Bonnafont, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of France, who emphasised the importance of international collaboration.
Additionally, Jovana Crncevic, Special Counsel for Dispute Resolution at Withers, shared insights on reforming investment dispute resolution frameworks.
Songchai Chaipatiyut, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Treaties and Legal Affairs of Thailand, outlined Thailand’s leadership in advancing global mechanisms for dispute resolution.
Prof Paulsson highlighted the importance of international co-operation in advancing fair and effective mechanisms that benefit global trade and investment, reiterating Bahrain’s commitment to working closely with Thailand and other partners to achieve shared objectives.
