MOTORSPORT – LEONARDO Fornaroli of Invicta Racing secured pole position yesterday for tomorrow’s feature race in the FIA Formula Two Championship, taking place as part of the support race programme in the Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2025 at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC).
Joshua Durksen of AIX Racing also had reason to celebrate in Sakhir, securing pole for the weekend’s F2 sprint race, scheduled to be held today.
Both drivers claimed their grid positions following yesterday’s qualifying, during which Fornaroli posted a best lap time of one minute 44.008 seconds. He was 0.155s quicker than Victor Martins of ART Grand Prix, who will be on the front row tomorrow in second.

Meanwhile, Durksen took pole for F2’s sprint today. He earned that spot after finishing 10th in yesterday’s qualifying with a best lap of 1:44.802, as per F2’s unique qualifying format.
Meanwhile, Oliver Goethe of MP Motorsport led teammate Richard Verschoor atop the F2 practice timesheet earlier yesterday morning.
Goethe had a quickest lap of 1:47.789 in the session, with Verschoor going 0.222s slower. Josep Maria Marti of Campos Racing finished third 0.590s adrift.
Today’s F2 sprint, to be held over 23 laps, is scheduled for a 5.15pm start. Tomorrow’s feature will be held at 2.25pm, and it will be over 32 laps.
