Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif Al Zayani participated in the Ministerial Meeting on the Implementation of the Two-State Solution and Lasting Peace in the Middle East, held at the invitation of the Turkish government.
The meeting was chaired by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and attended by the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, the UAE, Qatar, Palestine, Indonesia, Nigeria, and representatives from China, Russia, Ireland, Norway, Spain, Slovenia, the European Union, the Arab League secretary-general and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation secretary-general.
The meeting discussed the ongoing efforts by participating countries to advance the two-state solution as a means of reaching a just and sustainable settlement of the Palestinian cause in accordance with international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative.
The participants also reviewed efforts to rally support for reviving the peace process in the Middle East, as well as the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian territories and initiatives aimed at the full implementation of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
