The meeting was held at the invitation of Turkish Foreign Minister and was attended by the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the UAE, Qatar, Egypt, Türkiye, Indonesia, Nigeria, Palestine, as well as the Arab League secretary-general, and the Organisation of Islamic Co-operation secretary-general.
The meeting reviewed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip, along with the committee’s ongoing efforts to engage with countries around the world to restore a ceasefire agreement and ensure its full implementation, leading to an end to the war in Gaza, de-escalation, and breaking the cycle of violence.
Efforts were also discussed to expedite the release of hostages and detainees and to facilitate the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian and relief aid across all areas of the Gaza Strip.
The ministers also discussed the efforts being undertaken by Egypt concerning the reconstruction and rehabilitation plan for Gaza, which was approved by the Arab Emergency Summit held in Cairo last March, along with the OIC, and the ongoing preparations to hold an international conference in Cairo.
Dr Al Zayani also took part in the Ministerial Meeting on the Implementation of the Two-State Solution and Lasting Peace in the Middle East, held at the invitation of the Turkish government.
The meeting was chaired by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and attended by the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, the UAE, Qatar, Palestine, Indonesia, Nigeria, and representatives from China, Russia, Ireland, Norway, Spain, Slovenia, the European Union, the Arab League secretary-general and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation secretary-general.
The meeting discussed the ongoing efforts by participating countries to advance the two-state solution as a means of reaching a just and sustainable settlement of the Palestinian cause in accordance with international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative.
The participants also reviewed efforts to rally support for reviving the peace process in the Middle East, as well as the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian territories and initiatives aimed at the full implementation of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
The Foreign Minister also participated in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF 2025).
The ADF, organised by the Turkish Foreign Ministry, is held under the theme “Reclaiming Diplomacy in a Fragmented World”.
The forum was inaugurated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who expressed his hopes that the sessions and discussions held at the forum would contribute to generating new insights and constructive solutions for regional and global issues, and serve as a platform for advocating on behalf of the oppressed and the underprivileged in the region and the wider world.
President Erdogan emphasised that while we are living in a time of remarkable technological advancement, the international system has not progressed at the same pace.
He noted that terrorism, poverty, racism, Islamophobia, and migration crises continue to escalate, while international policies fall short in addressing them fairly and justly.
He called for strengthening the humanitarian and proactive role of diplomacy and for devising future strategies grounded in global conscience rather than relying solely on the logic of power.
