The Shura Council yesterday hailed Formula One success as a national triumph.
During the chamber’s weekly session, Chairman Ali Al Saleh extended his warmest congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on Bahrain’s outstanding success in hosting the Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2025.
He praised the achievement as a powerful reflection of Bahrain’s growing global stature and the kingdom’s ability to host international sporting events at the highest standards.
“The Formula One Grand Prix is not just a sporting event, it is a national achievement that symbolises Bahrain’s progress and excellence on multiple fronts,” he said.
“It is a sporting, cultural and economic success that further cements Bahrain’s position on the global sporting map.
“The 2025 edition of the race once again brought the world’s attention to the kingdom, highlighting its modern infrastructure, organisational capabilities and vibrant presence in the motorsports arena.”
Mr Al Saleh emphasised that Bahrain’s continued presence on the Formula One calendar since its inaugural race in 2004 is a source of pride for all Bahrainis.
“We are proud of the accomplishments that have been made since the launch of the race in 2004, and we look forward to more successes under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Hamad,” he added.
“The global recognition and enthusiastic participation in the Bahrain Grand Prix are testament to the kingdom’s pioneering role in the region and its dedication to excellence.”
Mr Al Saleh expressed hope for the continued growth and prosperity of Bahrain, particularly through international platforms such as Formula One, which contributed significantly to the kingdom’s economy and global reputation.
