The Sikh community in Bahrain celebrated Baisakhi, the anniversary of the founding of the Sikh order (Khalsa) in 1699.
Hundreds of devotees gathered for special prayers at the Sikh Community Centre in Salmabad. Present on the occasion were Indian Ambassador Vinod Jacob and King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance executive director Abdulla Al Mannai.
Baisakhi is also celebrated as the harvest festival in north India, particularly in Punjab.
