About 1,000 people attended Avurudhu (Sri Lankan New Year) celebrations organised by the Sri Lanka Club in Bahrain.
The event, organised in partnership with the Sinhala School and the Sri Lankan Engineering Society Bahrain, was held at the Abu Nezar Swimming pool premises in Barbar.
Families, children and embassy officials took part in several activities. Sri Lankan delicacies were also served as part of the celebrations which concluded with the crowning of the Avurudhu Prince and Princess competitions and an awards ceremony.
