Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday honoured young Bahrainis at a ceremony in the Muharraq Governorate for their contributions during Ramadan.
He praised the support of His Majesty King Hamad for initiatives that promote the learning and memorisation of the Holy Quran.
Shaikh Mohammed also welcomed the continued commitment of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to supporting those who memorise the Holy Quran.
He said that Bahrain attaches great importance to teaching the Holy Quran and encouraging its memorisation, efforts which have been made for generations.
He honoured Bahrainis aged between 15 and 20, who helped organise the Tarawih and Qiyam prayers during the holy month, as well as those who have memorised the entire Quran and shared their recitations through national radio and television.
Shaikh Mohammed affirmed that excellence in Quran recitation and memorisation is a source of national pride and extended his appreciation to the event organisers.
Shura Council member Dr Shaikh Adel Al Maawda also commended the ceremony, noting that Shaikh Mohammed’s patronage reflects the ongoing royal support for Quranic pursuits and serves as inspiration for Bahraini youth.
A number of senior officials attended the event.
