People are being urged to sign up for the Mawrooth Traditional Games, with registration closing on Friday.
The Bahrain Inherited Traditional Sports Committee (Mawrooth) said there has been a strong interest in the upcoming event and that participants should complete the registration process before the deadline.
The committee clarified that registration is open to both men and women of all age groups, who can sign up on the website www.almawrooth.org.
The event, to be held at the Bab Al Bahrain Post Museum from April 27 to May 7, comes as part of efforts to revive traditional games that once played a central role in the lives of the Bahraini community.
Dama (checkers), Dominoes, Doubles Carrom, Kot 6 and Hand (Rummy) are among the games that will be featured in the competition.
