The social housing sector remains a top national development priority, Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa has said.
This follows directives by His Majesty King Hamad to accelerate projects to deliver 50,000 new housing units and improve public services, he said while inaugurating the Social Housing Innovation Conference and Exhibition yesterday.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, deputised Shaikh Khalid to inaugurate the three-day prestigious event, which is taking place at the Exhibition World Bahrain.
Shaikh Khalid emphasised that the government, under the leadership of HRH Prince Salman, has launched new financing programmes and options aimed at delivering prompt housing services tailored to citizens’ needs and preferences.
He commended the Housing and Urban Planning Ministry and Eskan Bank for organising the conference.
Eskan Bank later said it had signed agreements with seven local commercial banks to provide housing finance services under the Tas’heel+ programme, which was launched on the sidelines of the conference
The agreement brings together Eskan Bank and the following partner banks participating in Tas’heel+ programme: National Bank of Bahrain (NBB), Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB), Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait (BBK), Ahli United Bank, Al Baraka Islamic Bank, Al Salam Bank and Khaleeji Bank.
