A group of boys have been arrested on charges of vandalising a mosque in Hamad Town, after they were caught on video in the act.
The video, which was circulated on social media, prompted authorities to launch an investigation, according to the Public Prosecution.
Judicial officers have been ordered to evaluate the damages to Yusuf Kanoo Mosque, and a representative of the Sunni Endowments Directorate has been summoned to testify about the incident.
The suspects, all children, have been remanded and will be assessed by experts in order to be entered into a programme to improve their behaviour.
Prosecutors have urged parents to pay better attention to their children’s actions, and noted that they are liable to pay any damages incurred by their children.
