The National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons, chaired by its chairman and Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) chief executive Nibras Talib, held its regular meeting to review recent developments in improving the work environment and advancing Bahrain’s leading efforts in combating human trafficking.
The committee discussed updates on the draft national strategy to combat trafficking in persons and reviewed its 2024 annual report.
Mr Talib emphasised Bahrain’s notable international standing, and highlighted efforts to formalise these achievements into a comprehensive national strategy involving all relevant government entities.
He also briefed the committee on outcomes from the sixth Government Forum to Combat Trafficking in Persons in the Middle East, held recently in Kuwait, which served as a regional platform to share the best practices, procedural frameworks, and collaborative approaches for effective, sustainable action against trafficking.
