The Cabinet has extended its sincere condolences to the families of the Bapco employees who lost their lives in a tragic incident involving process safety equipment.
The Cabinet, during its weekly meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, yesterday reviewed precautionary measures taken following the leak in a safety valve in one of Bapco Refining Company’s units on Friday.
An independent investigation consultant has been appointed to formally lead the probe, following the directives of the boards of directors of Bapco Energies and Bapco Refining. The Cabinet also highlighted the internal support committee formed to streamline all investigation-related procedures and ensure its smooth and transparent execution.
The Oil and Environment Minister and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs has been mandated to follow up on the independent probe and its outcomes, and present its results to the Cabinet to implement the necessary action.
