The national Press plays a key role in spotlighting the kingdom’s achievements and development march led by His Majesty King Hamad, the National Communication Centre (NCC) chief executive Ahmed Khalid Al Oraifi has affirmed.
He commended the unflinching support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the national Press, being an essential and active player in achieving the goals of the comprehensive development process.
Marking Bahraini Press Day, Mr Al Oraifi extended heartfelt congratulations to the Press community in Bahrain, commending their vital role in expressing the public opinion and documenting the national march and adherence to the national values and identity.
He highlighted the inspiring messages included in the noble speech of His Majesty King Hamad marking the World Press Freedom Day. He also underlined the important role of Bahrain journalism in documenting national accomplishments and promoting a responsible media discourse capable of keeping pace with various changes.
He pointed out that the government’s continuous support to journalism through various qualitative initiatives, including mainly the Prime Minister’s Award for Journalism, aim at fostering a culture of excellence.
Mr Al Oraifi reaffirmed the National Communication Centre’s commitment to strengthening institutional partnerships with various media outlets to further advance the media system on professionalism, credibility and responsibility.
