THE Labour Fund (Tamkeen) announced its support for wage increments for 21 Bahraini employees at City Glass through the Wage Increment Programme, representing more than 50 per cent of the company’s Bahrani workforce, in line with Tamkeen’s efforts to support the career development for Bahraini talent in the private sector.
This aligns with Tamkeen’s strategic priorities for 2025, which focus on enhancing the position and competitiveness of Bahrainis in the private sector, equipping Bahrainis with suitable skills for career development in the private sector, and prioritising enterprise growth, digitisation and sustainability and supporting the development of the ecosystem surrounding the labour market and private sector.
Khalid Al Bayat, chief growth officer at the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), said: “We take pride in supporting national enterprises that invest in the professional growth of their Bahraini workforce and this support boosts the industrial sector, which is the second-largest contributor to the kingdom’s GDP – accounting for 16pc in the third quarter of last year – and holdings significant potential for expansion and the creation of high-quality employment opportunities for local talent.”
Ahmed Habib Abdulmajid, City Glass human resources specialist, said: “Glass has become an essential component in construction, representing 30pc of building materials and being widely used in both residential and large-scale projects, and due to the increasing demand for our products, Tamkeen’s support has significantly contributed to our expansion plans and empowered our employees through wage increments.”
