Acclaimed actress and dancer Asha Sharath took the stage at the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam’s (BKS) Diamond Jubilee Hall to perform an unforgettable Bharatanatyam dance set with her daughter Uthara, last night.
The event was part of the fourth edition of the BKS Indo-Bahrain Dance and Music Festival, taking place until May 16.
The deeply personal and expressive performance was rooted in the classical traditional dance form of Bharatnatyam.
Ms Sharath is an Indian actress and classical dancer, who predominantly works in Malayalam films and television shows in addition to a few Tamil, Kannada and Telugu films.
Tonight, Bahraini artist Mohamed Aseeri will present a unique blend of vocal and instrumental music, strumming his trademark oud and representing the local talent and cross-cultural spirit that the festival aims to foster.
