HIS Majesty King Hamad has affirmed the importance of the GCC-US Summit, scheduled to take place this week in Riyadh.
He wished the summit success when he received His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, along with several senior officials at Sakhir Palace yesterday.
His Majesty underscored its role in serving security, stability and peace in the region, as well as strengthening long-standing ties, constructive co-operation and joint efforts with the United States in pursuit of shared interests.
The meeting discussed various national matters and efforts to further advance the kingdom’s vision and development process, aimed at sustaining progress and achieving the aspirations of its citizens.
The King expressed pride in the distinguished achievements delivered by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister through leading government efforts towards higher levels of development across all sectors.
He also commended the dedication and competence of Bahraini citizens in implementing national plans and visions, noting the inspiring success stories in various disciplines.
His Majesty commended the positive outcomes of the successful visit of Syrian President Ahmed Al Sharaa, which is expected to further strengthen co-operation between the two countries.
The King highlighted the significant achievements of the legislative authority over the past three sessions of the sixth legislative term of the Shura Council and Parliament. He also praised their continued efforts to support national development and plans and fulfil their legislative and oversight responsibilities.
