BAHRAIN’S enduring partnership with Saudi Arabia was in the spotlight at high-level talks yesterday.
His Majesty King Hamad and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad A Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, separately met Saudi Arabia’s Education Minister Yousef bin Abdullah Al Benyan and highlighted the strength and depth of the long-standing relations between the two countries.
The Saudi minister is visiting Bahrain to sign the contract for the completion of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Medical City, a project undertaken by the Arabian Gulf University.
During the audience at Sakhir Palace, the King expressed pride in the historic relations and commended their ongoing advancement in various sectors, including education.
The King underlined Saudi Arabia’s honourable and steadfast support for Bahrain under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
He commended the establishment of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Medical City in Bahrain, initiated by the late King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, as one of the outcomes of the close Bahraini-Saudi co-operation.
The minister expressed his appreciation to the King for his directives and the support provided by Bahrain for the establishment of the medical city.
He also commended His Majesty’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the ties.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister met Mr Al Benyan at Riffa Palace and highlighted the depth of the relations, supported by His Majesty and King Salman.
He emphasised the importance of deepening co-operation in line with the shared vision and enduring partnership between the two kingdoms.
HRH Prince Salman highlighted the unwavering commitment of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to strengthening the strategic partnership in pursuit of mutual aspirations.
He reiterated the kingdom’s commitment to enhancing bilateral ties and expanding multi-sectoral collaboration, particularly in education, to unlock promising opportunities that serve the interests of both nations.
The meeting discussed ways to expand bilateral co-operation and addressed issues of common interest.
Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa as well as Education Minister and Higher Education Council board of trustees chairman Dr Mohammed Mubarak Juma also attended the meeting.
