Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Education Charitable Trust, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), and Chairman of the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) High Committee, today met with Dr Maher Al-Shaer, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Bareeq Al Retaj Real Estate Company, Khalid Hussain Taqi, Managing Director of Local Impact Investments at Mumtalakat and Yousif Mohamed Bucheeri, the CEO of Bareeq Al Retaj Real Estate Company, to review the master development plan for the REHC.
He affirmed that the outstanding achievements and successes of Bahrain’s horse racing sector reflect the extensive support it receives from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Shaikh Isa bin Salman emphasised the importance of intensifying efforts to modernise the REHC’s infrastructure, facilities, and installations in line with the highest international standards, with the aim of elevating the competitiveness of the horse racing sector in support of the Kingdom’s wide-ranging goals and aspirations.
The latest progress on the development of a world-class golf course were also discussed. In this context, His Highness reaffirmed the commitment to advancing various development plans and projects aimed at transforming the REHC into a comprehensive and integrated centre. These efforts will further advance the Kingdom’s horse racing sector to enhance its contributions to the Kingdom's national development efforts as one of its vital sectors, and strengthen Bahrain's position as a premier sporting destination.
He emphasised the importance of strengthening strategic partnerships with the private sector, recognising its key role in accelerating the development of Bahrain’s horse racing sector. HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman added that such partnerships will help drive further achievements and successes at both regional and international levels.
During the meeting, the achievements within the REHC's master development plan were reviewed, and avenues for cooperation and partnership between both sides were discussed.
