Bahraini Yasmin Mufeed represented the kingdom at the International Youth Media Leaders Programme held in China.
It was held as part of the ‘Belt and Road’ initiative, bringing together a select group of media professionals from 35 countries.
Ms Mufeed was nominated by the Chinese Embassy in Bahrain, positioning her as a young Bahraini voice promoting cultural exchange and showcasing the nation’s rich pool of young media talent.
“It was an amazing experience to be able to represent my country at the event,” said the 34-year-old.
“China is a beautiful country, the people were very helpful, and there was a huge and amazing culture and heritage to learn from.”
The ongoing programme is taking place in Beijing as well as Nanchang until May 30.

It included field visits to prominent media and cultural institutions, workshops and lectures focusing on the role of media in enhancing civilisational communication among nations.
Ms Mufeed was selected to deliver the official opening speech on behalf of all participating countries at the programme’s inauguration ceremony in Beijing.
During her visit to the Great Wall of China, she donned traditional Bahraini attire and distributed traditional Bahraini sweets from Hussain Bin Mohammed Showaiter to visitors.
Ms Mufeed is the director of public relations and marketing at Bahrain Inherited Traditional Sports Committee (Mawrooth).
