Parliament Speaker Ahmed Al Musallam has affirmed that Bahrain continues its dedicated efforts to build a giving society that forms the main pillar for the future of a state rooted in law and institutions, in pursuit of Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
This is in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad, within the framework of a modern partnership between state institutions, and the ambitious strategy of the government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
This came as Mr Al Musallam addressed the 19th session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States in Jakarta.
The conference, held under the theme ‘Good Governance and Strong Institutions’, opened yesterday with the participation of parliamentary leaders and representatives from Arab and Islamic countries.
Mr Al Musallam, who is leading Bahrain’s Parliamentary Division, highlighted Bahrain’s achievements in advancing education, healthcare, housing, empowering civil society institutions, and enabling youth to contribute to state-building. He also noted national initiatives such as digital transformation and artificial intelligence, as well as investment in capabilities to address challenges including food security and climate change.
“Bahrain continues to support peace efforts in the region and the world and has launched numerous international initiatives promoting peace, tolerance, coexistence and human rights. In this context, Bahrain hosted the ‘Intra-Islamic Dialogue: One Nation, One Shared Destiny’ conference last February under royal patronage,” he said.
The Speaker underlined that, in reaffirming the importance of strong institutions under good governance as a foundation for social advancement, the Supreme Council for Women in Bahrain continues its efforts to promote women’s rights and gender balance, moving beyond empowerment to progress.
