Education Minister Dr Mohammed Mubarak Juma has ruled out any plan to implement a three-term academic system. He said that the Education Ministry has no intention of adopting this system and will continue with the current two-semester academic year, as it provides a large space for schooling days.
In an exclusive statement to our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej, Dr Juma emphasised that the most important focus is on students’ academic achievement and fulfilling the required number of school days. He noted that the ministry currently believes the two-term system serves the needs of both students and schools effectively.
Dr Juma also announced that the ministry had decided to award financial grants to home-schooled students who achieve grades between 90 per cent and 94.9pc. Additionally, those who score between 95pc and 100pc will be granted scholarships.
