There’s nothing quite like stumbling upon a new family favourite, and Salman Town Beach in Northern City has firmly earned its place on our jaunt rotation.
On a warm afternoon, just before sunset, we packed up the trike, some snacks and our toddler, and set off for a seaside escape. What we found was a calm, charming stretch of coastline perfect for little legs and some much-needed downtime.
With easy access, well-paved walkways and plenty of parking, it was hassle-free from the start.
Our daughter met up with her little friend, and together they took to the promenade on their bicycles, sunglasses and helmets firmly in place. The pair put on an impromptu ‘performance’ as they zipped along, drawing amused smiles from fellow beachgoers.
The atmosphere was just right, families enjoying picnics, children building sandcastles, and small groups wading into the gentle sea for an afternoon dip.
Despite the buzz of activity, the beach wasn’t too crowded, however it is more popular on a weekend.
As the sun began to set, a warm golden glow lit up the coastline, while the dramatic hill behind the beach made for a stunning silhouette and an ideal photo backdrop.
The children wrapped up their seaside antics with sticky fingers and wide smiles, enjoying an ice lolly as the sky turned pastel pink.
And the icing on the cake? It’s free, always open, and just a short drive away.
For a laid-back family outing, Salman Town Beach ticks all the boxes.
