A delegation from the King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance (KHGC) participated in the inauguration of the Church of Our Lady of Joy and the opening of the Metropolitan Niphon (Saikali) Museum in Zahle, Lebanon.
The team was led by KHGC board deputy chairman Ali Al Aradi and chief executive Abdulla Al Mannai.
Mr Al Aradi emphasised the kingdom’s commitment to promoting values of religious tolerance, intercultural dialogue and peaceful coexistence among nations and communities.
He also thanked Metropolitan Niphon Saikali representative of the Patriarchate of Antioch to the Patriarchate of Moscow for the invitation to the inauguration of the church which features a Byzantine interior and Russian-style exterior.
The opening of the museum is a spiritual and cultural landmark in Zahle and the wider region.
Mr Al Aradi expressed pride in the centre’s contribution to establishing the religious and cultural museum as a gesture of goodwill and peace, reflecting Bahrain’s strong ties with Lebanon and Russia.
He further highlighted KHGC’s continued efforts to advance its educational and training programmes in line with His Majesty King Hamad’s vision, the government’s direction, and the follow-up of Transportation and Telecommunications minister and KHGC board chairman Dr Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa.
He noted that these efforts recently culminated in the UN’s adoption of the centre’s initiative to establish the International Day for Living Together in Peace (marked on May 16), reinforcing joint efforts to build a more peaceful and prosperous world.
