A tree-planting event, aimed at expanding green spaces in urban areas across Bahrain, was held in the Southern Governorate by the Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Ministry.
It was organised by the ministry’s Agriculture and Marine Resources Affairs in co-operation with the American Embassy, Horse Care Affairs Authority and the Southern Municipal Council.
The initiative came as part of the ministry’s efforts to implement the National Afforestation Strategy and raise environmental awareness among citizens and residents regarding the importance of tree planting.
The ministry expressed its appreciation to all participants for supporting national efforts to double the number of trees in the kingdom by 2035, in line with Bahrain’s goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2060.
