A DENTAL centre has been shut down after an assistant there was caught performing procedures without the necessary licence, the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) announced yesterday.
The authority’s enforcement prosecution added that the centre’s dental equipment, tools and related medications were confiscated.
Necessary legal reports have been filed by the NHRA’s judicial officers and the case has been referred to the Public Ministries and Authorities Prosecution, who will forward proceedings to the relevant court.
The NHRA affirmed its commitment to enforcing the law and ensuring that all healthcare workers adhere to the approved professional and regulatory standards, in order to protect the health and safety of patients.
According to the latest report by the NHRA, there are currently around 1,262 licensed dental professionals in Bahrain operating in around 257 public and private hospitals and dental centres.
