A dazzling live ice-skating family show, featuring some of the most beloved Walt Disney characters, will be held in Bahrain for the first time at Exhibition World Bahrain in Sakhir from August 12 to 17.
The world-famous ‘Disney on Ice’ will be held as part of the Bahrain Summer Season Festival 2025 to enhance Bahrain’s position as a leading summer tourism destination in the region.
The event will feature a wide variety of famous characters such as Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, as well as beloved characters from Moana, Frozen, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Marigold and Coco.
Catering to all age groups, the characters will perform in a unique family entertainment experience that will take audiences on a magical journey on ice.
The show was first held in 1981 under the name Walt Disney’s World on Ice in Florida. It made its international debut in Japan in 1988 with an event titled, ‘Happy Birthday, Donald’.
The show is usually hosted by Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, assisted at times by Goofy and Donald Duck. The series also implements characters and stories from recently released Disney films.
This event comes as part of efforts to diversify Bahrain’s tourism efforts in line with the 2022-2026 Tourism Strategy.
It also aims to enrich the summer events calendar with unique offerings that boost the kingdom’s appeal as a preferred choice for visitors, provide diverse entertainment options for domestic tourism for citizens and residents, and attract families from the GCC during the holiday season.
The event will follow a variety of events being held as part of the summer festivities, including the Bahrain Summer Toy Festival, which will be held from July 1 to August 5 at Exhibition World Bahrain in Sakhir, which attracted almost 100,000 visitors from Bahrain and abroad last year.
