Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa yesterday received the ministry’s Haj delegation ahead of their departure to perform the pilgrimage.
Public Security Chief Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan and Interior Minister Under-Secretary Shaikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa were present.
The delegation of 57 members includes officers, personnel and civilians.
The minister commended the unwavering support of His Majesty King Hamad and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for Bahraini pilgrims.
Gen Shaikh Rashid also commended Saudi Arabia’s efforts in ensuring the safety and care of pilgrims and emphasised that sending ministry personnel for Haj is a gesture of appreciation for their service.
Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister and Supreme Committee for Haj and Umrah Affairs chairman Nawaf Al Maawda yesterday bid farewell to Bahraini pilgrims at Bahrain International Airport.
He commended the directives of His Majesty and HRH Prince Salman to ensure the comfort and safety of Bahraini pilgrims.
He also lauded the efforts of Saudi Arabia’s leadership in enhancing Haj services. The minister expressed appreciation to Bahrain Airport Company and the King Fahad Causeway Authority for making travel easier for Bahraini Haj campaigns.
He urged pilgrims to adhere to the guidelines issued by the Bahraini Haj Mission and co-operate with organising teams.
Meanwhile, Bahrain’s Haj Mission head Shaikh Adnan Al Qattan held a co-ordination meeting with the heads of the mission’s committees to assess their readiness and preparations to serve Bahraini pilgrims.
He commended the high level of organisation and preparedness demonstrated by the committees upon arrival at the mission’s headquarters in the Al Naseem district of Mecca. He emphasised the importance of operating under a clear, co-ordinated plan to deliver the best possible services to Bahraini pilgrims.
He also conducted a field visit to all the mission’s committees. He underscored the efforts of the medical committee and its high level of preparedness to provide comprehensive healthcare to pilgrims, mission members, and Haj campaign teams.
He noted that the medical clinics at the mission headquarters in Mecca and the holy sites were fully operational, guaranteeing a secure and healthful atmosphere for pilgrims.
