Tamkeen (The Labour Fund) has opened applications for a new intake of its Mashroo3i programme, empowering individuals with innovative ideas to dive into entrepreneurship.
The initiative aims to bolster Bahrain’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and encourage young Bahrainis to transform their concepts into thriving ventures.
The programme offers an intensive advisory course for Bahrainis with feasible business ideas, as well as idea-stage or early-stage startups.
Participants will gain crucial entrepreneurial skills and the tools needed to develop viable business models. This year, Mashroo3i introduces two tracks: one in Arabic and another in English, designed to maximise participation and reach a broader audience.
Tamkeen chief growth officer Khalid AlBayat underscored the importance of supporting entrepreneurship and fostering youth initiatives. “We’re proud of Mashroo3i’s past successes and anticipate even greater achievements with this edition,” he added.
“The programme provides tailored guidance and mentorship from experienced experts, helping transform business ideas into reality. These ventures, in turn, create job opportunities for local talent and contribute positively to the kingdom’s economic development.”
Finalists will be eligible for Tamkeen support, disbursed in phases upon achieving specific business milestones. This support covers essential areas such as machinery and equipment, marketing and branding, technology, minimum viable product (MVP) design, and patent costs.
Mashroo3i aligns with Tamkeen’s 2025 strategic priorities, which include enhancing the competitiveness of Bahrainis in the private sector, upskilling the workforce, and promoting enterprise growth, digitisation, and sustainability within the labour market ecosystem.
