His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, yesterday chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting at Gudaibiya Palace.
The Cabinet commended the outcomes of the second Asean-GCC Summit and the Asean-GCC-China Summit, during which HRH Prince Salman led Bahrain’s delegation on behalf of His Majesty King Hamad.
The Cabinet underscored the significance of his address at the summits, which reflected the kingdom’s vision for strengthening international cooperation in support of sustainable development.
The Cabinet also reiterated the importance of Bahrain’s call for an international treaty to govern the responsible and ethical development of artificial intelligence.
Alongside the summits, the Cabinet also stressed the significance of HRH Prince Salman’s official visit to Malaysia and his meetings with Malaysian King Sultan Ibrahim ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, in strengthening Bahrain-Malaysia relations.
The Cabinet expressed its gratitude to Malaysia for the warm welcome and hospitality received by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister and the Bahrain delegation during the visit.
The Cabinet affirmed the unwavering support extended to the national Press by His Majesty, and HRH Prince Salman, which has benefited the development of the kingdom’s national Press.
The Cabinet extended its congratulations to the recipients of the 2025 Prime Minister’s Press Award for Journalism, underscoring the award’s role in fostering media excellence and creativity.
The Cabinet also congratulated the Bahrain Journalists Association on its 25th anniversary, recognising its prominent role in supporting journalism and media professionals.
Additionally, the Cabinet commended the outstanding students of the 2024-2025 academic year, expressing its appreciation to the parents, teachers, and administrators of the Education Ministry for their continued support in this matter.
The Cabinet commended the Education Ministry’s contemporary methods and approach, which contribute to the development of the kingdom’s education sector in line with national aspirations. This follows a report reviewed by Cabinet on the ministry’s modern teaching methods for the 2024-2025 academic year, submitted by the Education Minister.
In recognition of the upcoming World Environment Day, the Cabinet reaffirmed its commitment to adopting initiatives, and solutions aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals to preserve the environment and its natural resources.
The Cabinet reviewed and approved the following memorandums:
1. A memorandum submitted by the Government Executive Committee on a draft law to develop and enhance the efficiency of the electricity and water sector.
2. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs and Fiscal Balance regarding maternity services for non-Bahrainis.
3. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs and Fiscal Balance regarding the approval of the Eskan Bank board of directors’ decision to obtain banking facilities that provide housing financing solutions to citizens and implement developmental housing projects.
4. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Financial, Economic Affairs and Fiscal Balance regarding a request to add activities for Oracle Europe, Middle East and Africa Holding Limited.
5. A memorandum submitted by the Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Minister on the acquisition of real estate for public use, to provide necessary spaces for urban development.
6. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on the government’s response to seven proposals and two laws submitted by Parliament.

2. Outcomes of the official visit of the Transportation and Telecommunications Minister to the UK to prepare for the Bahrain International Airshow 2026.

4. Outcomes of Bahrain’s participation in the World Utilities Congress.
5. Outcomes of the second session of the United Nations Habitat Assembly.
6. Outcomes of the kingdom’s participation in the 123rd session of the UN Tourism Executive Council.
7. Outcomes of Bahrain’s participation in the Arab Media Summit 2025.
8. Outcomes of the kingdom’s participation in the Khalifa Award for Education.
9. Updates on planned external visits by Bahraini ministers and scheduled visits to Bahrain by foreign ministers this month.
