Bahrain Space Agency chief executive Dr Mohammed Al Asiri honoured Polytechnic student Maryam Saleh for winning first place in the public sector category at the annual graduation project exhibition, The Grads Expo 2025, for her project “AquaMap.”
The project was supervised by Geospatial Analytics head Prof Roaya Bubshait.
Dr Al Asiri congratulated Maryam on her achievement, commending the quality of her project and her ability to apply modern technologies in service of Bahrain’s environmental and fisheries sectors.
He also commended the collaboration between the agency and Bahrain Polytechnic and expressed his appreciation for the dedicated efforts of Prof Bubshait in guiding the students toward this success.
Maryam provided a detailed explanation of her project, “AquaMap,” which aims to identify potential fishing zones using high-resolution satellite imagery and spatial data analysis, presented through an interactive, user-friendly platform.
