The driver of a vehicle, who was involved in a collision that resulted in the death of a Bahraini couple, was driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol, the Public Prosecution has said.
He also exceeded the legal speed limit, the prosecution added in a statement today.
According to a report by the General Directorate of Traffic, the man lost control of his vehicle in Saar on Friday (May 30) and veered into the opposite lane, colliding with the victims’ car.
The suspect has been interrogated, confronted with evidence and put in provisional detention in preparation for trial at a criminal court.
The couple's three children sustained serious injuries in the accident.
