More than 1,200 youngsters showcased their artistic and literacy prowess at the Devji-BKS GCC Kalotsavam 2025, a 50-day cultural celebration that concluded recently.
The closing ceremony was attended by chief guest Indian Embassy counsellor (political and Press, information and culture) Rajiv Mishra, alongside Supreme Court of India advocate M R Abhilash, Quality Education School executive director Madhuri Prakash and senior representatives from the Devji Group.
Organised by Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS) at its premises in Manama, the event saw participation from more than 1,200 contestants, including 700 children in 135 individual events and 79 teams battling it out in 14 group competitions.
BKS president P V Radhakrishna Pillai lauded the event’s success, expressing pride in continuing the tradition of nurturing artistic excellence and community engagement.

“For over two decades, Devji has stood alongside BKS as a steadfast partner and sponsor of Devji-BKS GCC Kalotsavam,” said Mr Pillai.
“This enduring collaboration has played a vital role in strengthening cultural ties and uplifting the identity of Indian families in Bahrain.”
The festival honoured several participants including Isha Aashiq for Best Female Artist (Kalathilakam), Shaurya Sreejith for Best Male Artist (Kalaprathibha) and Sahana Mohanraj for Young Talent of the Year (Bala Thilakam).

Category-specific title winners include Neha Jagadheesh for Overall Arts Excellence (Kala Ratna), Ayan Sujith for dance (Natya Ratna), Arjun Raj for music (Sangeetha Ratna) and Priyamvada N S for literature (Sahitya Ratna).
Neha, a 13-year-old Grade 9 student of The Indian School Bahrain, also received special commendation for her artistic accomplishments, which included first prize in painting and pencil drawing, second prize in vegetable carving and poster design; third prize in group tableau, Kayal, and Grade A in cartoon drawing, English essay writing, English poem writing, clay modelling, short story writing (English) and English poem recitation.
