Preparations are underway to welcome the Eid Al Adha holiday by installing illuminated displays at the Clock Roundabout, replacing national flags with new ones and intensifying cleaning efforts at monuments and along main streets.
The Southern Municipality, in co-ordination with the Sunni and Jaffari Waqf (Endowments) Directorates and the cleaning services company Urbaser Bahrain, is working on a campaign to clean several mosques, Islamic centres and Eid prayer grounds.
These include washing courtyards, cleaning sidewalks and increasing manpower and equipment at religious sites to accommodate larger crowds during Eid prayers.
Municipality officials have revealed efforts align with the municipality’s priority to ensure the comfort of worshippers, especially during religious occasions.
The campaign includes increasing the number of workers at all sites, providing necessary equipment and vehicles, and washing and cleaning mosque courtyards and sidewalks.
The Southern Municipality continues its cleaning operations to ensure all areas across the region remain clean, affirming its commitment to fulfilling its responsibilities year-round – especially during religious, social and national occasions – as part of its mission to contribute to a clean and beautiful urban environment for all citizens and residents.
It has also launched a wide range of beautification and cleaning initiatives to mark the holiday and ensure public comfort across the region.
The efforts are part of the municipality’s long-standing annual tradition of celebrating major religious holidays by enhancing public spaces and intensifying municipal services.
In the lead-up to the Eid celebrations, the municipality has adorned the Clock Roundabout with illuminated decorations and replaced worn flags with new ones, symbolising a spirit of renewal and festivity.
Cleaning crews have been deployed to refresh main roads and historical landmarks, ensuring a presentable and welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike.
“Providing a comfortable environment for worshippers, especially during religious occasions, is a top priority for us,” said a municipal official.
“We are working proactively to ensure every prayer ground and mosque is clean, safe and ready for the public.”
The municipality affirmed that it continues to carry out its cleaning programmes year-round, with extra attention during religious, social, and national events.
“The ultimate goal is to contribute to a clean, organised and visually appealing urban space that reflects the values of the kingdom and enhances the quality of life for all citizens and residents,” added the official.
