Ithmaar Bank, a Bahrain-based Islamic retail bank, has promoted Mohammed Ali Safar to assistant general manager (AGM), head of private banking, financial institutions, treasury and business alliances.
The promotion aligns with the bank’s strategy to bolster its merit-based culture, develop its workforce, and promote from within, said Ithmaar Bank chief executive Maysan Almaskati.
“The promotion reflects our confidence in Ithmaar Bank’s team and emphasises the bank’s commitment to invest in the development of its employees and empower them to reach their full potential,” Mr Almaskati said. He added that Mr Safar’s contributions are expected to drive further success and business growth for the bank.
Mr Safar, who joined Ithmaar Group in 2007, brings over 18 years of banking experience to his new role. He has held several senior positions at Ithmaar Bank and represents the bank on multiple boards. He holds an MBA from De Paul University, USA, and a BA in financial services from the University of Bradford, UK.
