THE Italian Embassy in Bahrain hosted a reception to mark the 79th anniversary of the Italian Republic.
Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister Nawaf Al Maawda, Sustainable Development Minister and Bahrain Economic Development Board chief executive Noor Al Khulaif, Mohammed Bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies director general Dr Shaikha Muneera bint Khalifa Al Khalifa and Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities president Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa attended the event at the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel, Residence and Spa, Manama.
Also present were diplomats, government officials, prominent business leaders, entrepreneurs and members of the Italian community.
Italian Ambassador Andrea Catalano highlighted excellent Italy-Bahrain relations and Italy’s diplomatic efforts for international peace.
“On June 2nd, we proudly celebrate the Italian Republic,” he said.
The day commemorates the 1946 referendum establishing Italy’s republican government.
He lauded collaboration with the King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance, noting shared values promoting global peace.
Mr Catalano emphasised ongoing efforts to deepen economic ties with Bahrain, anticipating future high-level visits.
He thanked the organisers of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s January 2025 visit to Bahrain and greeted Italian Navy personnel.
