His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa underscored that the remarkable achievements of Gulf youth are a direct result of the forward-looking vision and exceptional care provided by His Majesty and the leaders of GCC states.
Marking Gulf Youth Day, Shaikh Nasser said that this sustained support reflects the leadership’s deep belief in the potential of young people to drive change and contribute meaningfully to national development. He expressed pride in a generation that is actively shaping the future with innovation, ambition, and commitment. He noted that Gulf Youth Day is a powerful reminder that young people are the region’s greatest asset and central to building its future.
Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad emphasised that the leadership across the region recognises investment in people, particularly youth, as the cornerstone of progress. He emphasised that youth have consistently been a top priority, highlighting the ongoing efforts to equip them with the tools and opportunities needed to become confident, creative contributors to national progress.
Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa expressed pride in the achievements of young people from GCC in various domains.
Shaikh Khalid noted that Gulf Youth Day reflects the significant attention GCC leaders give to youth, recognising them as the true wealth and key to the future. He emphasised that young people across the Gulf, and especially in Bahrain, have demonstrated through their energy and skills their ability to excel and contribute in all areas, confirming their active role in achieving sustainable development and raising the status of their countries regionally and internationally.
Shaikh Khalid expressed pride in what Bahraini youth have achieved in all domains, particularly in sports, where athletes have secured many accomplishments that have enhanced the kingdom’s reputation.
Youth Affairs Minister Rawan Tawfiqi highlighted that the unwavering support for Bahrain’s youth sector has been instrumental in empowering young people across various sectors.
She commended Shaikh Nasser for leading impactful youth initiatives that extend beyond Bahrain and help develop a confident, capable generation ready to compete globally.
On Gulf Youth Day, the minister said the occasion reflects the unity among GCC countries and highlights youth as a vital force in sustainable development.
SCYS secretary general Aymen Almoayyed said that Gulf Youth Day emphasised the strategic importance of youth as key drivers of development and core contributors to shaping the future.
He noted that this occasion underscores the commitment to strengthening their role in national and regional progress through continued investment in their abilities and skills.
He emphasised that empowering the youth is a fundamental pillar of joint Gulf co-operation, to promote knowledge exchange, skill development and societal cohesion.
