Acting Labour Minister and Legal Affairs Minister Yousif Khalaf has affirmed Bahrain’s commitment to strengthen fundamental labour rights.
Speaking at the 113th Session of the International Labour Conference in Geneva, Mr Khalaf highlighted Bahrain’s ongoing efforts to develop advanced legislation that protects workers’ rights, ensures trade union freedoms, and promotes the participation of social partners in decision-making processes.
He outlined Bahrain’s integrated policies to promote job creation, safeguard rights, and ensure sustainable growth.
He referenced Bahrain’s Tier 1 ranking in the US Department of State’s Trafficking in Persons Report for the seventh consecutive year, reflecting the kingdom’s effective efforts in this field.
He also emphasised the absence of child labour, measures to prevent workplace discrimination, and the adoption of the latest occupational health and safety legislation.
