A number of experts and trade unionists called for reviewing and amending national laws to ensure fairness and gender equality.
The principle of equal opportunity needs to be enshrined in the governance and policies of public and private sector institutions and organisations, to offer better opportunities for the participation of women in leadership positions and reduce the gender gap.
This was one of 18 recommendations proposed by a discussion session organised by the Working Women and Children Committee of the Bahrain Free Labour Unions Federation, commonly referred to as ‘Al Hurr’.
