Industry and Commerce Minister Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro yesterday met UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi who led an official visit to the kingdom.
Mr Fakhro emphasised the deep historical ties between Bahrain and the UAE, highlighting the advanced stage of their relations under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad and UAE President Shaikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He stressed the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation, particularly in trade.
Dr Al Zeyoudi echoed this sentiment, affirming the UAE’s commitment to strengthening economic and trade collaboration with Bahrain.
The ministers also visited the recently inaugurated UAE Investors Centre in Manama. They underscored the significance of UAE investments in Bahrain in fostering economic cooperation, which has expanded through years of promoting joint trade. The UAE Investors Centre is seen as a crucial hub for developing investments and boosting bilateral trade.
In addition, Fakhro and Dr Al Zeyoudi participated in a workshop on Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements (CEPA), organised by the UAE negotiating team. The workshop reviewed the UAE’s experience with CEPA, attended by Bahraini officials and stakeholders.
