Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif Al Zayani held telephone calls with Hamish Falconer, Minister of State for the Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan and Pakistan at the United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office; Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Minister Ayman Safadi; Morocco’s Foreign Affairs, African Co-operation and Expatriates Minister Nasser Bourita; and Cyprus’ Foreign Minister Dr Constantinos Kombos.
The ministers discussed co-operation and co-ordination, as well as means to enhance joint efforts across various domains to serve shared interests.
They also reviewed regional developments and addressed the ongoing military escalation between Israel and Iran and its implications for regional security and stability. They stressed the importance of reducing tensions, halting escalation, and continuing US-Iran negotiations regarding the Iranian nuclear programme to preserve regional peace and stability.
