A 27-year-old has been arrested for allegedly misusing social media and engaging in illegal activities by posting content that violates moral values.
The Anti-Cyber Crimes Directorate of the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security clarified that, as part of its ongoing monitoring of content published on social media platforms, a violative post shared by the individual was detected.
The directorate launched an investigation, which led to the identification and arrest of the offender.
Legal proceedings have been taken, and the case has been referred to the Public Prosecution.
The directorate urged everyone to comply with the laws and regulations and to uphold national and moral responsibilities when using social media.
It called on users to refrain from publishing or circulating any content that violates the law or harms the reputation of Bahraini society.
The directorate highlighted its keenness to preserve public order and safeguard societal values, and affirmed that legal measures would be taken against anyone misusing social media.
