BAHRAIN has unveiled a support package to develop and train national talent within the healthcare sector.
The package, launched by the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) in collaboration with the Supreme Council for Health (SCH), includes providing support for more than 750 Bahrainis, including doctors and nurses, to further improve capabilities and strengthen the sector’s workforce.
Prime Minister’s Court Minister and Tamkeen board of directors chairman Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa issued the directives to launch the package during a meeting with SCH chairman Lieutenant General Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa yesterday.
Shaikh Isa emphasised that empowering national talent across all sectors remains a strategic priority, with dedicated resources and concerted efforts to help achieve this objective.
He reiterated the ongoing commitment to developing robust training and employment pathways that support the professional growth of Bahraini citizens and position them as the leading candidates in the labour market.
In addition to advancing individual growth, this initiative serves as a catalyst for national progress and economic prosperity, he said.
Shaikh Isa affirmed Bahrain’s commitment to investing in local talent employed across all sectors. He stated that this is achieved through the launch of various strategic initiatives which will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality and long-term sustainability of healthcare services, recognising the sector as a fundamental pillar in Bahrain’s continued development under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad and in accordance with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Lt Gen Dr Shaikh Mohammed expressed his appreciation for the royal support for Bahrain’s healthcare sector through the unwavering backing it receives from His Majesty and HRH Prince Salman.
He also commended Shaikh Isa’s contributions in providing comprehensive support that enhances training and development of national talent across different sectors, including healthcare.
These efforts align closely with the SCH’s efforts to foster a supportive healthcare environment, encourage innovation and implement strategic initiatives that strengthen service efficiency, as well as ensure the sustainability of resources.
Health Minister Dr Jalila Al Sayyed, Cabinet Affairs Minister Hamad Al Malki and Tamkeen chief executive Maha Mofeez also attended the meeting.
Following Shaikh Isa’s directive, Tamkeen announced the launch of the new healthcare support bundle targeting 750 Bahraini healthcare professionals.
