HIS Majesty King Hamad places great importance on encouraging a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among the youth, the King’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa has said.
The King has always called for consistently directing efforts to empower young people and provide opportunities that enable them to shape the future, he said.
On the occasion of Arab Youth Day, observed annually on July 5, Shaikh Nasser noted that His Majesty’s forward-looking vision for youth was powerfully captured in the inspiring phrase: ‘a source of pride and a wellspring of hope’.
He noted that these words embody His Majesty’s steadfast belief in the potential of young people and their capacity to contribute to a brighter future for the nation.
Shaikh Nasser added that this royal vision continues to receive strong support from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, who remains committed to developing a nurturing and ambitious environment in which youth can realise their aspirations and contribute meaningfully to national development.
He expressed his pride in the youth of Bahrain and the wider Arab world, noting that dedicating a day to celebrate Arab youth reflects confidence in their important role as a source of hope and optimism. He highlighted that today’s generation is aware and capable of addressing future challenges and shaping their countries’ development.
Youth Affairs Minister Rawan Tawfiqi said the day represents a significant occasion to showcase the promising potential of Bahraini and Arab youth, review their achievements and acknowledge the hopes placed upon them to build a brighter and more sustainable future for Arab nations.
Supreme Council for Youth and Sports secretary-general Ayman Almoayyed pointed to the youths’ determination to turn challenges into opportunities and encouraged them to remain committed to self-development.
