Coast Guard patrols have arrested three fishermen for illegal shrimping.
The fishermen were arrested for catching shrimp during the shrimping ban in Fasht Al Jarim as part of the Coast Guard's ongoing efforts to maintain maritime security and protect the marine environment.
They were using the banned bottom trawl nets, locally known as kuffa.
Legal procedures have been initiated to refer the case to the Public Prosecution.
The Coast Guard stressed the importance of adhering to fishing regulations to ensure the sustainability of marine life and fish stocks in the Kingdom's territorial waters.
