Two workshops that will encourage young artists to recycle natural and man-made products and turn them into sustainable artwork will be held at Youth City 2030 next month.
The events are being organised by the Youth Affairs Ministry in co-operation with the Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Ministry.
The first workshop called the Natural Engineering Programme will teach participants how to convert branches, tree trunks and garden waste into artistic sculptures.
The aim is to help preserve the environment while recycling unusual materials into meaningful and beautiful pieces. Open to people aged 15 to 35, it will be held from 4pm to 8pm on August 11 and 13.
A Wire Sculpture Programme will focus on shaping recycled iron wire into expressive sculptures. Participants will learn the basics of handling wire, along with the techniques of bonding and splicing them into three-dimensional unique artistic works. It will also be open to those aged 15 to 35 and will be staged from 4pm to 8pm on August 18 and 20.
