A summer programme has been launched in Amwaj Islands to strengthen community ties among the residents.
Taking place every Saturday throughout July at the beachfront entrance of the islands, the programme will feature a variety of weekly recreational entertainment activities tailored to all age groups.
In a statement marking the launch of the ‘Amwaj Summer Programme’, Amwaj Islands Central Owners’ Association board of directors chairman MP Ahmed Al Salloom highlighted the significance of the programme in fostering social cohesion.
“Amwaj Summer Programme is more than just a seasonal event, it’s a platform to bring people together, build stronger social bonds and create shared memories among the residents,” he said.
“The association is committed to creating the best possible environment and offering activities that serve the community and enhance interaction among families and neighbours.”
The programme features an exciting line-up of water games, competitions and live musical performances, making it the ideal weekend destination for families and friends to enjoy quality time.
“Amwaj Summer Programme is part of the association’s ongoing efforts to enrich the social and cultural fabric of the islands and provide an interactive environment that encourages stronger community engagement,” he said.
“The initiative reflects the association’s vision to transform public spaces into vibrant community hubs, promoting inclusive participation and a greater sense of belonging among residents.”
