Parliament and Shura Council have won 2025 Bahrain Digital Content Awards (BDCA) at a ceremony yesterday.
Parliament won the award in the Inclusion and Empowerment category for its “MP Portal” project. This recognition highlights the Council’s contribution to digital innovation and its positive impact on advancing Bahrain’s digital transformation.
It also highlights Parliament’s pioneering role in developing digital solutions to support parliamentary work and promote digital empowerment strategies.
Assistant secretary general for resources and services Dr Saqer Al Shirawi received the award on behalf of Parliament.
The Bahrain Technology Companies Society (BTECH), organiser of the award, emphasised that this achievement reflects the quality and clear impact of the project in promoting digital inclusion and empowerment.
This success is the result of the vision of Parliament Speaker Ahmed Al Musallam and his support for pioneering technical initiatives that enhance parliamentary work and align with Bahrain’s ambitions in innovation and digital transformation.
The achievement also highlights the efforts of Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sisi Al Buainain, secretary general of Parliament in supporting technical projects.
The Shura Council won the award in the “Inclusion and Empowerment” category for its newly enhanced website (shura.bh).
The Shura Council’s website was honoured for serving as an interactive legislative platform, providing comprehensive, up-to-date information on sessions, committees, legislation, and decisions.
Shura Council secretary general Karima Al Abbasi said that this award reflects the council’s efforts to implement the directives of His Majesty King Hamad, focusing on harnessing modern technologies and artificial intelligence to advance national development.
She also highlighted the secretariat’s commitment to supporting the government’s drive, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to adopt the latest digital innovations and promote digital transformation across all sectors.
Shura Council Chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh honoured the institutions and entities that won the awards.
The event was organised by BTECH in partnership with WorkSmart for Events Management, and was attended by a large gathering of entrepreneurs and specialists in the field of digital innovation, as well as officials from various public and private sector institutions.
The Bahrain Digital Content Awards aims to showcase the progress and development achieved by Bahrain in the field of digital content and to highlight the efforts of various institutions in utilising modern systems and technologies.
The award also encourages the drive towards digitalisation and stimulates competition in developing innovative and sustainable digital solutions across all sectors.
