Bahrain is on track to achieve its annual employment and training targets, the Cabinet was told yesterday.
The weekly session was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa at Gudaibiya Palace.
The meeting was informed that 49 per cent of the annual target to employ 25,000 Bahrainis had been met.
Also, while 51pc of the target to have 8,000 of the 25,000 Bahrainis as new entrants to the labour market had been achieved, 63pc of the target to train 15,000 Bahrainis had also been reached.
The Cabinet approved a memorandum submitted by the ministerial committee for community services regarding labour market indicators up to the second quarter of 2025, as part of the ongoing implementation of the National Labour Market Plan (2023-2026).
The data reflects the outcomes of agreements reached with the legislative authority during discussions of Bahrain’s 2025-2026 budget.
The Cabinet commended the visit of His Majesty King Hamad to the UAE, during which he met President Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The session affirmed the strength of Bahrain-UAE relations and the joint commitment to bolstering the partnership to achieve shared goals of progress, development and prosperity.
The Cabinet extended its congratulations to the government and people of the UAE on the occasion of Union Pledge Day, which marks the historic 1971 meeting that led to the establishment of the UAE by Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the signature of the Declaration of the Union and the UAE Constitution by the Emirates rulers. In this regard, it commended the UAE’s remarkable progress and ongoing development.
