His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has underscored the historic and strategic relationship between Bahrain and the United States, which spans more than 130 years.
He conveyed the warm greetings of His Majesty King Hamad when he met US President Donald Trump at the White House yesterday.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister reaffirmed Bahrain’s unwavering commitment – led by His Majesty – to strengthen bilateral co-operation, particularly in the realms of security, trade and investment, all aimed at fostering international peace and promoting sustainable development.
He affirmed that the $17 billion investment package announced during this visit – spanning multiple sectors – reflects the deep trust and strong ties between Bahrain and the United States, further advancing their strategic partnership.
HRH Prince Salman emphasised that these agreements represent a meaningful and practical step forward in strengthening the long-standing economic partnership between the two countries.
He highlighted the strong and growing economic relations between Bahrain and the US, noting the positive impact of the Free Trade Agreement between the two countries, and underscoring the United States Trade Zone in the kingdom, which has played a key role in boosting economic co-operation.
HRH Prince Salman welcomed the joint agreements, such as the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA), which was expanded through the inclusion of the United Kingdom following an invitation extended by Bahrain and the US.
He affirmed that C-SIPA has created a multilateral framework to advance peace, drive development and innovation, and support the normalisation of relations across the Middle East – at an important time for the region.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister welcomed the UK’s accession to the C-SIPA, describing it as a major step towards fostering broader regional security integration, strengthening collective deterrence against external threats and expanding co-operation in commerce, science and technology with like-minded states in support of peace and prosperity in the Middle East.
He also expressed hope that other like-minded nations will join the C-SIPA framework, delivering momentum for peace and co-operation across the region.
HRH Prince Salman also highlighted the deep-rooted history of Bahrain-US relations, which began at the civil level in 1893 and officially in 1948.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister reaffirmed the kingdom’s commitment to expanding co-operation and deepening this enduring partnership for years to come.
He emphasised the importance of co-operation in peaceful nuclear power, given its positive impact on development and the transition towards sustainable energy.
The meeting also addressed recent regional and international developments, in which HRH Prince Salman highlighted Bahrain’s steadfast approach to upholding the values of tolerance and coexistence, and intercultural dialogue.
He underscored the kingdom’s belief that lasting stability is grounded in the advancement of prosperity.
Furthermore, HRH Prince Salman commended the efforts of President Trump, and the pivotal role of the United States, in co-ordination with allies, to reduce regional tensions and promote enduring peace and stability in the Middle East.
President Trump praised His Majesty as a highly respected leader, both in the Middle East and on the global stage. He also welcomed HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to the White House, and extended a warm welcome to Prime Minister’s Court Minister Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
During his address, President Trump emphasised the strength of Bahrain-US relations, describing them as tremendous and grounded in decades of mutual support and strategic partnership.
The President affirmed that Bahrain has always been a valued and steadfast ally, stating that the US has always stood by Bahrain in return.
President Trump also referred to the economic relations between the two countries, noting the significant trade exchange that continues to grow.
A lunch banquet was held by President Trump in honour of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister and the accompanying delegation’s visit to the United States.
